A Note from Principal Fitzgerald

Dear Families,

As we welcome the start of spring, I am filled with excitement and gratitude for all the wonderful things happening at our school! As we wrap up the second trimester, I want to celebrate the amazing experiences our students have had, particularly in music and media. This week, we look forward to the highly anticipated student shares, where our young learners will showcase their talents and hard work. Please see Tanica’s ParentSquare post for more information.

I am also thrilled to highlight the incredible work our kindergarten students have done as part of their PBL (Project-Based Learning) project. They have connected their learning about the 5 senses to Autism Awareness Month by creating sensory walls. These projects were not only a hit in our school community but also at the District 15 PBL Showcase! Several of these sensory walls will be on display throughout the building for Autism Awareness Month in April, and we invite you to come see the students' creativity and dedication.

A huge thank you goes out to all the families who contributed to the success of our Holi celebration! From making informational flyers to volunteering at the event, your support made this celebration truly special. We couldn’t have done it without you!

As always, thank you for being an essential part of our school community. I look forward to all that the coming months have in store!

Warmly,

Kathryn

Service Week Wrap Up

Thanks to the students and families of PS154, we were able to deliver eight large bags of personal care kits to CHiPS (https://chipsonline.org/) as part of PS 154's Service Week project in celebration of MLK day. Students participated in packing individual-sized bags of toothpaste, soap, socks, and other personal care items. CHiPs serves 350 meals per day to hungry neighbors, and these toiletry kits will be distributed to individuals and families in need.
