Morning Volunteers!

The School Yard is Closed to parents starting at 7:40am. We need volunteers! You can sign up to help here: Morning Volunteers

General Reminders

Please limit bringing forgotten items to school during the school day as this disrupts classroom learning and fun. I know this might not work for everyone, but if a lunch is forgotten students can always get school lunch free! And as for other items, our kids will remember more on their own if we don't always remember for them (something I have to tell myself with my own kids too).

United Sports Youth League

Free Flag Football Clinics!

At United Sports Youth League, we strive to create an environment where young people from different racial, economic and social classes can come together to learn sportsmanship and create fun memories that will last long after the season has ended. Our mission is simple: instill lessons of respect, tolerance and inclusion through sports.

USYL is going to be hosting six weeks of free flag football clinics and game sessions for the community that focus on training and developing player skills. These sessions begin:

  • Saturday, September 28th at Joffe Park Ave. K and East 58th Street from 9:30a to 11:30a

  • Sunday, September 29th at the Brooklyn Parade Grounds Field 4 and 11 Caton Ave. and Argyle Road

FDNY Open Houses

Sessions open to the public on Sat, Oct 5 and Sun, Oct 6

Sessions will be held either from 11am-1pm or 1-3 pm. To find out the date/time/location of your nearest firehouse or EMS station, click on the link below for our interactive map: http://www.nyc.gov/fdnyopenhouse

Throughout the day Firefighters, Paramedics and EMTs will be educating the public about fire and life safety, conducting demonstrations, discussing the Department’s storied history, and offering tours of FDNY apparatus (engines, ladders and ambulances).

Thanks to generous support from the FDNY Foundation, members will be distributing free smoke alarms, fire safety coloring books, fire helmets for children and educational material promoting fire and life safety tips. This event is open to any member of the public. We look forward to seeing you!
