First PTA General Meeting of the Year
Monday, Sept 23 6:30 - 8:00PM
Please join us for our first PTA General meeting of the year. We will cover:
PTA plans for the year
budget review
election
The election will round out our Executive Committee that serves our PTA.
We need to elect FOUR Member-at-Large positionsfor our Executive Committee. These positions are held open specifically for new parents at our school. They are a great way to learn about everything the PTA does to support our school and students.
We will also elect members to our open positions of Technology Chair, Community Events Chair, and Auction Chair. We are happy to have candidates for each of those roles, but we encourage all interested parties to run for any position available. You can nominate yourself or a friend from the floor!
There will also be many committees you can sign up for to contribute in that way. We want to have everyone included in any way they feel comfortable, and we can never have enough volunteers! If you have an idea for your involvement that you don't see here, email us!
SPEAKERS
There will be brief updates from Principal Foreman, our Parent Coordinator, Debby Wattenbarger, Executive Committee members, and we will end the evening with a short talk from our SEL (Social Emotional Learning) Committee Chair, Jane Bliss Birk, on the topic of Social Emotional Learning - Emotional Intelligence.
The meeting starts in the MMR at 6:30pm and Jane's talk will begin around 7:15pm.
CHILDCARE DURING THE MEETING
For a suggested donation of $5 per child to cover costs, there will be babysitting for school-aged children. Children will be given pizza and supervised by Ms. Guzzi in the cafeteria, or if weather permits, in the schoolyard. If your child prefers to stay with you, that is absolutely fine also.
Hope to see you there!
