PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
THURS, NOV 15, DISMISSAL AT 11:30 am
Forms are being sent home via backpack by Monday with more information about making an appointment for this date.
Please note, it is difficult to meet with everyone in the short time teachers are given for this. Teachers are allotted a limited amount of time on this day to discuss your child's progress so we are asking that you arrive on time to your appointments. If you are late, you will most likely have to reschedule for another date. If you have other concerns that aren't able to be discussed, please send a note to your teacher to meet at another time.
In addition, if you cannot meet on November 15 during the times available (12:30–2:30 pm or 4:30-7:30 pm), please make alternate arrangements directly with your teachers. Throughout the year, dedicated time for parents to conference with teachers is on Tuesdays after school. You can contact your child’s teacher for more information about this parent time.
You can contact your teacher directly if you have questions, or contact our Parent Coordinator, Debby Wattenbarger, at dwattenbarger@schools.nyc.gov.

Emotional intelligence is a hot topic for adults and children alike. Science is showing us that a person’s ability to manage his/her emotions (Emotional Intelligence Quotient - EQ) determines the quality of his life more fundamentally than IQ. Let’s look at what happens to the brain during meltdowns and tantrums (of both the adult and kid variety) and practice tools to calm the storm and raise EQ for more peaceful, productive exchanges with our kids.
