TRICK OR TREAT FOR UNICEF

Trick or Treat for UNICEF boxes were given out at Boo Bash and will also be available in the front entryway of the school until Halloween. This fundraiser is a great way to get your kids involved in helping children around the world, including those affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia. Kids collect donations while trick-or-treating—many people are familiar with the drive and will have coins ready to give out. You can donate money collected online or bring it to the collection stations along the Park Slope parade route on Halloween between 3 and 5 pm:

-in front of Naidre's restaurant (7th Ave. between 11th & 12th Sts.)
-in front of Bank of America (7th Ave. & 6th St.)
-on the steps of the Old First Reformed Church (7th Ave. & Carroll St.)

Or you can drop off boxes until Sunday November 18 at the Crunch Gym at 330 Flatbush Ave. (at Sterling Pl.)

BIG APPLE AWARDS

We are excited to announce the nomination period for the New York City Department of Education’s seventh annual Big Apple Awards – recognizing outstanding teachers who inspire students, model great teaching, and enrich their school communities. Our goal is to receive a nomination from every school!

We need your help to highlight some of our City’s best teachers, and highlight the great work happening at your own school. Please consider making a nomination yourself, and helping to spread the word to others.

To make a nomination, visit schools.nyc.gov/BigAppleAwards. Nominations accepted through Monday, November 26.
