SCHOOL UPDATES

A MESSAGE FROM MS. RACHED

November 2nd, Election Day, will be a fully remote day, and teachers will be posting work in Google Classrooms. You must use your child’s nycstudents.net account (DOE student account) to join their Google Classroom (do not use your personal email to join). Reach out to Debby Wattenbarger if you need help accessing your child’s nycstudents.net account, and/or need a remote learning device for your child. Please contact your child's teacher if you need the Google Classroom code.

November 3rd and 4th will be our Parent-Teacher Conferences. Our teachers are looking forward to meeting with you to discuss your child's progress and any specific concerns you might have. This year, conferences will be held remotely - please look out for sign-up information from teachers.

AUTHOR VISIT

SCHOOL-WIDE REMINDERS

  • All students/staff/visitors must complete their health screening at home every morning before they arrive in school. Click the link here: Online Health Screening Paper copies will be made available at school if needed.

  • Please complete your Covid-19 Testing Consent Form and return it to the main office. Forms were sent home this week for students who are missing consent. You can also provide consent online – go to schoolsaccount.nyc. Log in with your own email at the screen that looks like the DOE student login, then select the blue "my student" button. The link to the Covid-19 Testing Consent is at the top of that page.

  • All families must complete the Family Income Inquiry Form, which helps schools receive money for their programs regardless of if they qualify for free or reduced lunch. No need to sign up for school breakfast or lunch.

  • Complete the Emergency Blue Card here: Emergency Blue Card. We still need you to complete the entire form even if you updated this in your NYCSA. Please return the form to the main office, or email to fancona@ps154.org

PTA UPDATES

BOO BASH IS A WRAP!

We want to thank you for making Boo Bash 2021 one of the best EVER! Our community showed up in a major way and was flexible despite the rain date and ever-changing forecast—and we’re THRILLED to report that this event raised a record-breaking $25,000+ for our amazing school!

We’re grateful to our countless volunteers and supporters, particularly Karen Tingley, who devoted so much time and energy toward making Boo Bash so special for our kids, and to Danielle Mendez for the huge task of coordinating all the food!

pta general meeting/election

At our general virtual PTA meeting on 10/27 at 6:30 PM, we will hold an election to fill the role of Chair of Auctions and Sponsorships. We hope you can join us!

Please reach out to pta_info@ps154.org if you're interested or want more information on how to get involved with the PTA.  Please remember that we cannot run our school without volunteers! OUR SCHOOL NEEDS YOU!
