SCHOOL UPDATES
NEW STUDENT BATHROOMS ON THE FIRST FLOOR: WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Our first floor bathroom renovations are on the Participatory Budgeting ballot. Voting is taking place in person at the Park Slope Armory on 15th Street until April 10, as well as online during this time period. We’d love it if you could help us make this happen for our students!
Make your voice heard! If you are a resident of District 39 (check your city council district here), you can vote on how to spend $1.5 million on projects to improve our community. Everyone age 11 and up can vote, regardless of citizenship or voter registration status. This initiative is called Participatory Budgeting. It gives real people a real say in how our money is spent. It is one way we can envision a just budget.
Voting: You can vote with the digital ballot here from April 2nd until April 10th.
Voting Sites: There will be pop-ups around the district, or you can come to CM Hanif’s Office 456 5th avenue anytime from 10–4pm

COMMUNITY GIVING DRIVE - THANK YOU!
A huge thank-you to each and every family that donated to the PS 154 Community Giving drive - no matter how big or small! We were so touched by the generosity of everyone who helped us raise a TOTAL OF $3,450 for our PS 154 families in need. Your donations are helping families in our community that have been most severely affected by the COVID pandemic. Thank you for your support.

NYC SCHOOL SURVEY - DEADLINE EXTENDED - NOW DUE APRIL 15. BUT DON’T WAIT, COMPLETE YOURS TODAY!
All families can take the survey online – in any of the nine NYCDOE supported languages – using their student’s nine-digit identification (OSIS) number. You can find the OSIS number on the report card, your NYCSA account, or you can call the school at 718-768-0057 and press 0 for the main office. Families completing the survey online should go to the NYC School Survey website (NYCSchoolSurvey.org), enter the letter “f” (lowercase) followed by their student’s nine-digit OSIS number, and complete the survey (e.g f123456789).
If needed, you can choose to complete the paper survey that is going home in your child’s backpack.
Please note, a survey must be completed for each child you have in public school (even if they are in the same school).

STEM CAREER DAY FOR 3RD–5TH GRADES, MAY 24
STEM Professionals - We need YOU!
Volunteer to share your STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) career! We would like to introduce PS154 kids to the wide variety of STEM careers available to them. If you work in Tech, Medicine, Research & Development, Engineering or any job you got with training or a degree in a STEM field, come share it with 3rd-5th grade students! You would attend a virtual event on Tuesday, May 24th, roughly 10am-12pm, but your actual time commitment would probably be shorter. Please email Christine Ponder (cponder@me.com) if interested and/or if you have any questions.

HIGH-FILTRATION MASK BANK
In January the PTA organized a "mask bank" for families and staff to come pick up high-filtration masks to wear at school. Thank you to all who have donated. We have plenty of masks in the bank at this time, and you may pick up what you need for your student(s) from Debby (Sherman side of the building) any weekday between 8 and 8:30am.
SCHOOL-WIDE REMINDERS
All students/staff/visitors must complete their health screening at home every morning before they arrive in school. Click the link here: Online Health Screening. Paper copies will be made available at school if needed.
Please notify Debby Wattenbarger as soon as possible if your child tests positive for Covid-19 or is exposed to someone who has tested positive.
Please complete your Covid-19 Testing Consent Form and return it to the main office. Forms were sent home this week for students who are missing consent. You can also provide consent online - go to schoolsaccount.nyc. Log in with your own email at the screen that looks like the DOE student login, then select the blue "my student" button. The link to the Covid-19 Testing Consent is at the top of that page.
All families must complete the Family Income Inquiry Form, which helps schools receive money for their programs regardless of if they qualify for free or reduced lunch. No need to sign up for school breakfast or lunch.
Complete the Emergency Blue Card here: Emergency Blue Card. We still need you to complete the entire form even if you updated this in your NYCSA. Please return the form to the main office, or email to fancona@ps154.org

NEW-TO-YOU BOOK FAIR AND MOVIE NIGHT - APRIL 29
(BOOK DROP-OFF: APRIL 13 & 14)
We’re so excited to bring back the New-to-You Book Fair on April 29, and, to make it even more exciting, we’re combining it with an OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT! 🍿👀📽
We are excited to again offer the opportunity to share books we have read/outgrown with our friends at school. We would love your donations but need your help organizing them! This is all you have to do:
Sort books into age/grade groups: K–2 and 3–5.
Place books in sturdy boxes or Fresh Direct bags.
Group them together, spines facing up, and label the box/bag with their grade level (K–2 or 3–5), your name, and phone number. If you have a series, group them all together.
No dictionaries, textbooks, religious themed books, workbooks, or very well-loved books please.
Please drop off anytime in the MMR on Wednesday April 13th or Thursday 14th. If you can't make either of those days, please email sabrinabaronberg@gmail.com to make arrangements.

TEACHER & STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK! MAY 3–6
HELP US SHOW THE LOVE FOR PS 154's TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND STAFF! PLEASE CONTRIBUTE BY THURSDAY, APRIL 14!
We’re making it easy this year! Make a donation, and the Teacher Appreciation Committee will take care of the rest—including treats and surprises for the entire PS 154 team.
This is our chance to show the amazing people who make PS 154 such a special place just how much we appreciate them, especially during this challenging and unpredictable year. Once we've raised enough funds to plan a spectacular week for our teachers and staff, we'll update you with a schedule of events, so you'll know exactly where your money went!
DONATE via Venmo: @Stefanie-Ranieri. If you would like to donate in another way, please contact Stefanie Ranieri Schiada.
**Please note this is not a fundraiser for the school. All funds raised will go directly to celebrate our teachers and staff in May.**
