PS 154 POETRY EXTRAVAGANZA
NEXT THURSDAY!

Come celebrate creative children courtesy of Calliope (muse of poetry)! Bring your rhymes, whims, piths, and gists, and remember that Carl Sandberg said, “poetry is the synthesis of biscuits and hyacinths.” Long story short: words + kids = fun.
ALL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME! Students can read their own poems or their favorite poems.
STORY PIRATES ASSEMBLY
May 4th during school
Optional Book Orders Due April 24
Story Pirates will be visiting PS 154 for an assembly on May 4th. Founded in 2004 to celebrate the words, ideas and stories of young people, Story Pirates pairs world-class teachers with first-rate actors and comedians, and offers a variety of tools to make learning more engaging and effective.
Their book, Stuck in the Stone Age, is being released in March, and they’ve offered copies of the book for sale to our community at a discount. If you wish, buy it here.
PTA ENRICHMENTS SURVEY
Due April 26
Our PTA raises $250,000 yearly to support The Windsor Terrace School. We support a variety of programs that affect every every child at our school.
Every parent and guardian of a PS 154 student is a member of our PTA. PTA budget and programming decisions are made at PTA meetings and must be voted on by PTA members present. At the same time, we hope that we can reach as many families as possible with this survey and get a more complete sense of the wishes of our PTA members.
You can fill out the survey here. DO IT FOR THE CHILDREN!
VOLUNTEER IN THE SCHOOLYARD!
Did you know that you can come volunteer to help organize games and supervise play in the schoolyard during lunchtime recess? If you would like to get involved, please reach out to Debby Wattenbarger at dwattenbarger@schools.nyc.gov.
