Welcome to the 2020 SCIENCE FAIR!

The Fair will be held on April 25, 2020
and is open to all students in grades 3-5.

What is the Science Fair?

The Science Fair Project is an optional, extra-curricular opportunity for students to research, experiment, and create a project about a subject they wish to know more about. It is a great way to practice independent learning, gain confidence, build critical thinking and research skills, observe and question their everyday world, learn time management, and have fun experimenting!

Students can work on their own or with a team (no more than 4 kids) to develop a project from beginning to end.  Parents can help, but students are in the driver’s seat with their ideas and actions.

This event is open to the community.  Projects will be displayed at the P.S. 154 Science Fair on Saturday, April 25, 11a.m.-2p.m.  On Monday, April 27, projects will remain on display in the MMR for students in all grades to enjoy!

Where Do I Begin?

If you haven’t signed up yet, there is still time!  Check out the Science Fair Planning Guide below if you are curious and then just fill out the sign-up sheet and submit it to your teacher.  The earlier you submit, the better, so you have more time to focus on becoming a scientist!

Participating students! Please refer to The Elementary Science Fair Planning Guide, below, that offers a step-by-step guide to applying the scientific method to an area of personal interest and focuses on a process-based approach to experimentation.  This is your go-to handbook to create a successful project!!

Our STEM teacher Mr. Wong and our administration team will also be available weekly for optional check-ins with students doing projects.

We will continue to post updates as we progress toward the event date so stay tuned!
